Sometimes it's not "you get what you pay for"

Blogging is hard...and time consuming...and blocked in China.  So I couldn't blog about the wonderful desserts I had (and then it went downhill from there...kinda like when you stop running for a week, then it turns into 2 weeks, then a month).  Sorry about the tangent!

So right before I left for Shanghai, I had desserts from The Twisted Root and Houston's (both in Dallas).

Twisted Root is known for their made from scratch everything...from root beer to ketchup.  The food is delish.  The chocolate peanut butter shake was DEEEEEEEELISH.  You can't tell from this picture, but I actually already took (quite) a few spoonfuls already...I turned the glass so you see the "good" side.  This shake is so smooth, rich but not overbearing, and NOT NEARLY LARGE ENOUGH!  I would highly recommend everyone try this shake next time you're in Dallas.  It also goes really well with anything you'll order at Twisted Root, and it's only $3 or something.

Sadly, the dessert at Houston's was so incredibly average, but over priced ($7 or $8).  I could have easily warmed up a brownie from the grocery store and added some ice cream to it.  It was so average...I will not waste any more words on it.
