Second awakening...back at it...dusting off the computer...something that sounds good enough to be said in a dramatic and inspiring moment of a Hollywood (romantic comedy) blockbuster. Yup, this blog is starting back up again.
This. is. theglorious. Bella Mela. It is from Il Cane Rosso in Dallas. The description on the menu is Vanilla Bean Mascarpone / Carmelized Apples / Sea Salt / Caramel.
I have to tell 'ya, I am not a fan of carmelized fruit (Cane Rosso also changes the fruit with the season). But this dessert (I chose not to call it a pizza anymore), is phenomenal. Mascarpone + soft pizza crust + Sea Salt + Caramel = awwwmigawd. Btw, if you are thinking to yourself, "oh, like the Cici's dessert pizza", then I pssssshhh at you very loudly. Very loudly. It is nothing nothing like it at all.
It takes 10-15 min to prepare, but it will be worth the wait. This is also more than enough to share - feeds 8-10 in my opinion (4-6 if you want to larger slices).
Cane Rosso has other dessert pizzas, but my motto for this one is "don't fix what ain't broken". Enjoy!
....cue fading Hollywood music....
